Dear Parents/Guardians,
Welcome back to Pulaski Elementary School! I am so excited
about this upcoming school year and look forward to seeing you
and your child on the first day. I trust that you have had a
great summer and also hope you are looking forward to the
opening day of school with the same enthusiasm as the teachers
and staff.
On
Monday, August 30, 2010, school officially opens for students in
grades 1-5 for the 2010-2011 school year. Pre-Kindergarten and
Kindergarten students begin on Tuesday, August 31, 2010.
The school day is 8:20 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.
This letter contains some very important information. Please read it carefully and use it to help prepare your child for this
upcoming school year.
Section 1: Student Placement
Information
The Transportation Department of the
Christina School District will be sending information to you
soon that will inform you of your child’s assigned classroom
teacher.
Section 2: School Uniform
Policy: "Pulaski Elementary is a Uniform
School!"
All students at Pulaski Elementary School will be expected to
wear uniforms daily. Enclosed with this letter, you will
find additional information regarding the new uniform policy for
the Christina School District. Details about required
colors (blue and white) and optional combinations are outlined
in the flyer. Please support our school with this uniform
program. Special incentives will be randomly shared to encourage
continued adherence to the policy.

Please note: At Pulaski, the “SillyBandz” that are in
fashion now will be PROHIBITED! Students will
not be allowed to wear the bands/bracelets in school at
any time. If seen, they will be confiscated and will only be
returned to a parent/guardian. This ban is being put in
place to ensure that we have a safe and orderly environment
for all children and staff. Our focus is on education. Thank
you for understanding.
Section 3: Before & After School
Care Programs
As
part of a wonderful partnership, the Boys and Girls Club
sponsors a useful service to our school community. The "Before
and After School Care Programs" will be held at Pulaski
Elementary School for students in all grade levels. The "Before
School Program" runs from 6:30-8:30 a.m. The "After School
Program" lasts from 3:00-6:00 p.m. More details and information
about the cost of this service are available at the school.
Section 4: Parent Involvement
Activities
As a
new school year begins, we would like to remind you of our
commitment to providing your child with a quality education. We
believe that this goal can be more easily achieved by
strengthening the partnership between you and the school. It is
our desire to work collaboratively with you so that your child's
educational experience will be successful. We need your support
in helping us to educate your child. Please cooperate by making
sure your child comes prepared for school on time each day in
uniform and completes home assignments that have been reviewed/
signed by you. Agendas will be another way that we communicate
with you on a daily basis. We also encourage you to become
involved in various school activities.
