Student Presented with 2009 Jefferson Award for Public Service
On February 9, Newark Mayor Vance A. Funk
presented the city's 2009 Jefferson Awards for
Public Service to winners at the City Council
meeting. One of this year's recipient was
Min "Sharon" Song a student at Newark
High School, who volunteered more than 200 hours
of her time at Christiana Hospital during the
past two years. Song also teaches music to
middle school students through the Outreach
Program and is an active member of the NHS Key
Club and National Honor Society.
