General Information:
Gallaher Elementary School is named for Robert Sidney Gallaher. He was an active member of the Newark Board of Education from 1911 to 1950. Gallaher currently serves a diverse population of approximately 475 students living in the Newark area for grades K – 5. The school mascot is the Panther. The school motto is “Panther Pride”. The school colors are blue and yellow.
Gallaher Mission Statement:
The staff of Robert S. Gallaher, a public elementary school, in partnership with the community, it committed to educating a diverse group of learners in a changing society. We challenge our students academically and provide opportunities for creative expressions. We reinforce social responsibility and nurture healthy behaviors.
2009 – 2010 Key Priorities:
1. Continue using “best practices” in the execution of daily guided reading groups.
2. Streamline the implementation of Response to Intervention (RtI).
3. Integrate current technology practices into the daily teaching routine & instruction.
4. Promote a positive school culture for all the Gallaher stakeholders. |
