Cool Tools
 Textalyzer Got a piece of text that you need to determine the reading level? Copy and paste in a piece of text, or give it a URL, and it will analyze the text for word count, readability, sentence count, average sentence length, most frequently used words, etc. A useful tool for teachers and for writers. It is available in French and English.
 Google Language Translator This tool will take text or web pages written in one language, and translate them into another. Type in a message and it translates it for you from English into Spanish, German, etc. Very helpful for those of us working with ESL families.
 DOE's English Language Arts Assessments Has anchor papers and writing prompts with a link to additional resources, including the Delaware Student Testing Program's Item Samplers.
 Common Multipurpose Graphic Organizers Offers many different types of graphic organizers either in a Word document that can be downloaded and changed or as a PDF document.
 42 PAGES OF GRAPHIC ORGANIZERS Forty-two pages of classroom teaching aids at this site, with printable graphic organizers for every occasion and subject. Also includes generic patterns (Prism, Pyramid, How to Make a Triarama, etc.)
 4teachers 4Teachers.org works to help educators integrate technology into the classroom by offering FREE online tools and resources. This site helps teachers locate and create ready-to-use Web lessons, quizzes, rubrics and classroom calendars.
 Rubistar RubiStar is a tool to help the teacher who wants to use rubrics but does not have the time to develop them from scratch. There is a tutorial and templates based on subject matter.
 Puzzlemaker Puzzlemaker is a puzzle generation tool for teachers, students and parents.
 DelaWISE Discovers MarcoPolo DelaWISE Discovers MarcoPolo provides lessons aligned to the state standards by exemplary Delaware teachers. You can find lessons from many of the MarcoPolo partner web sites such as Read-Write-Think and National Geographic.

 TrackStar TrackStar facilitates organizing and annotating Web resources for students. Create your own Track or use one of the hundreds of thousands already made by other educators. Search the database by subject, grade, or theme and standard for a quick and easy activity.
