Staff and students at
CHS were very pleased this week to welcome back the FFA
participants from the 81st National FFA Convention held
October 22nd through 25th in Indianapolis, Indiana.
Christiana High
School FFA representatives were just a few of the 55,000
FFA members and guests. Our students competed
against other top FFA members in the country in various
activities related to agricultural skills. CHS was
represented by four teams: Landscaping, Forestry,
Poultry, and Agronomy.
The Landscaping Team,
sponsored by Mr. Thomas Lundy, consisted of Angelia
Montes, Ellen Baca, Amber Keen,
and
Dylan Oakes. They received a gold for their
excellent participation and teamwork. Each member
was also awarded individually. Angelica and Ellen
received gold medals, while Amber and Dylan were honored
with silver medals.
The Poultry Team was
awarded a silver and was sponsored by Ms. Julie Emerson.
Individual members consisted of returning CHS student
Jessica Piatt, who earned a silver medal.
Renee Poole, Darine Howze, and Ashley
Szczerba all received bronze medals for excellent
performances.
Mr. Andrew Beadenkopf led
the Agronomy Team to a bronze medal. Team members
Justin Winnington, Vinny D'Occhio,
Jaime Piatt, and Rebekah Beeson all received
individual bronze medals as well.
The Forestry Team, lead
by Mr. Richard Ferenz, was awarded a bronze medal.
Team members Krystal Shortlidge and
Nirali
Patel achieved individual silver medals.
Bronze medals were awarded to Krupa Patel and
Alisha Beckford. All participants did an
outstanding job.
Congratulations to
these Christiana students and teachers who contributed
to another successful FFA Convention.
