Parents' Right to Know
Teacher Qualifications
Christina School District believes all students should
be taught by highly qualified staff in all of our
schools. Parents have a right to know if their
child’s teacher meets these standards. Federal Law
ensures this right for parents who have children in
schools that receive funds from the federal Title I
program. Parents who are interested in learning
about any of the following information may submit a
request and the information will be sent to them:
-
Whether the teacher has met
state qualifying and licensing criteria for the
grade levels and subject areas in which the teacher
is teaching;
-
Whether the teacher is teaching
under emergency or other provisional status through
which state qualification or licensing criteria have
been waived;
-
The baccalaureate degree major
of the teacher and any other graduate certification
or degree held by the teacher, including the field
of discipline of the certification degree; and
-
Whether the child is provided
services by paraprofessional and, if so, their
qualifications.
