From the
kindergartener learning to spell to the high school senior solving a
complex physics problem, computer and other technologies are used extensively
in the Christina School District for learning and administration.
Staff use the internet, educational software,
presentation technologies, and media to enhance the learning
opportunities for the District's students. Students throughout
the District are exposed to a wide range of technologies in order to
better meet individual needs. Technology is especially important
to the district's vocational, Title I, and special education programs.
Every Christina teacher has an e-mail account. All classrooms
in the District are wired to the Internet and all
school libraries
have computerized catalogs. Most classrooms have telephones for the
teachers to communicate with parents and most have distributed
video/cable TV access. Teachers and staff have a variety of
professional development resources available to them, including staff
to help them use instructional technologies effectively.
