Health Requirements for School Entry
Kindergarten Students

Photograph: NurseThe Delaware Department of Education has health regulations governing the entry of new students in any Delaware Public School.  These requirements include a recent examination by a healthcare provider, specific immunizations, a tuberculosis risk assessment with possible skin test, as well as a blood lead test for kindergarten and preschoolers.  Your primary healthcare provider will be able to provide all of these services and the necessary documentation for the school.  Please take your child's medical and immunization history to your medical provider so that only the necessary procedures can be completed.

If you are new to the state and currently have no medical provider, the health centers listed below are suggested for your convenience.  If you have questions about this information, please call the School Nurse at the school your child will attend.
