High School Programs
& Requirements
The
Christina School District publishes a
High
School Planning Guide each year to assist
students in selecting courses that will meet all
graduation requirements and provide a solid career
pathway and preparation for post-secondary
education. Students are required to complete
credit requirements in English, Mathematics,
Science, Social Studies, Physical Education, Health,
Computer Literacy, World Language, and a Career
Pathway, and may also choose from a variety of
elective courses. The High School Planning
Guide is available in January of each year from high
school guidance offices and on each high school
website.
All three high schools offer
opportunities for Advanced Placement (AP) classes
covering a broad range of subjects. At
Christiana
High School, some unique program features
include business technology, visual and performing
arts, agricultural sciences, and Navy Junior Reserve
Officer Training Corp.
Glasgow High
School offers agri-science and horticulture,
business technology, design and technology, family
and consumer sciences, and Air Force Junior Reserve
Officer Training Corp.
Newark High
School offers programs in business, finance, and
information technology, creative expression
media/telecom, science, technology, engineering and
mathematics (STEM), human services and leadership,
and Cambridge Program.
The Christina School
District also participates in the Tech Prep program,
which allows students to complete college credits in
some subject areas while still in high school.
Participating colleges include Delaware State
University, Delaware Tech, Goldey Beacom College,
Pennsylvania Institute of Technology, University of
Delaware, and Wilmington University. For more

Sarah Pyle
Academy for Academic Intensity is a
non-traditional high school which accelerates
achievement and credit recovery for those students
who have been unable to attain success in the
traditional high school environment.
Networks
School Based Enterprises program gives students,
ages 16 to 21 who are best suited to learning
outside the traditional classroom setting, the
opportunity to complete their high school education
while learning career and independence skills.
