Referendum Progress Report
District Receives More than 550 Full-Day
Kindergarten Applications
More
than 550 Full-Day Kindergarten (FDK)
applications were submitted to the District
after it was announced that limited FDK
seats would be expanded to all suburban
elementary schools this fall. Full-Day
Kindergarten has been available in the
District’s city elementary schools, and has
also been available on a limited basis
through the choice process at Downes,
West Park, Maclary, Wilson and Porter Road
Elementary Schools.
Schools offering limited Full-Day
Kindergarten seats for the first time this
fall include Brader, Brookside, Gallaher,
Jones, Keene, Leasure, Marshall, McVey, and
Smith Elementary Schools. The deadline to
submit applications was Thursday, July 15.
Several
of the schools received more applications
than seats available, and
a lottery process
will go into effect for those seats.
Parents will be notified by mail of the
status of their application the week of July
26. For more information, please visit:
