Governor
Jack Markell's proposed budget includes cuts
to education that could severely impact the
Christina School District's budget for next
year. The state's budget cuts include
reductions in State Fiscal Stabilization
Funds, state and local match funds, Division
II, Title IV, transportation maintenance,
and minor capital funds. The District
also faces budget increased caused by "step"
pay increases for employees moving up and
across the pay tables, and increased pension
funding costs in the next fiscal year.
Two Board Meetings Added in March
The
Christina Board of Education will hold a
public Workshop meeting to discuss budget
issues on Saturday, March 20 at 9:00 a.m. at
the
Eden Support Services Center. The
Board has also approved an additional March
meeting on Tuesday, March 23 at 7:30 p.m. at
Sarah Pyle Academy.
