Christina Board Honors Teachers Earning National
Board Certification
At the March 9 meeting, the Christina Board of
Education recognized two teachers who have
earned National Board Certification for the
first time this year, and three teachers and one
administrator who have received notice of a
renewal of their national certification.
Like board-certified doctors and accountants,
teachers who achieve National Board
Certification have met rigorous standards
through intensive study, expert evaluation,
self-assessment and peer review.
Christina's new National Board Certified
Teachers are:
- Patricia Meixell, Shue-Medill
Middle School, mathematics/adolescence
- Parma Wright-Sanchez,
Gauger-Cobbs Middle School, English as a New
Language/early adolescence through young
adulthood
Christina's renewing National Board Certified
teachers are:
- Marilyn Dollard, Porter Road
Elementary School, Generalist/Middle
Childhood
- Beverly Jordan, Wilson Elementary
School, Generalist/Early Childhood
- Beverly Wescott, Smith Elementary
School, Generalist/Early Childhood
- Peter Yonko, Newark High School,
Science/Adolescence and Young Adulthood
