Bancroft Hosts Family Math Night

On February 18, Bancroft Elementary School held the first of four Family Math Nights.  The evening was sponsored by Bancroft, The Center for Economic Education, and JP Morgan Chase. Families participated in activities led by Bancroft teachers that focused on the key economic concepts of saving and spending.  The activities also reinforced important computational math skills.  Every child who attended also received a book, compliments of JP Morgan Chase.  A few lucky families won home supplies, groceries, or a piggy bank full of change.  They earned these gifts after making the most accurate estimate of the total cost of the items.  The evening ended with a pizza dinner.  The many inches of snow on the ground couldn't keep our Bancroft families from coming out and sharing in a great evening!
