The NHS Parent Resource Center is hosting a "Coffee with the Principal" on January 12 from 7:30-9:00 a.m. in Room A108.  All are welcome to join them for a cup of coffee and a casual conversation with Assistant Principals Mrs. Savage and Mr. Scott.

December 9 was the official grand opening of the NHS branch of Louvier's Federal Credit Union, with Newark High becoming the first high school in the state to have a full-service student-run Credit Union.  This opportunity will alllow students to hone their skills that are learned in the classroom and apply them to the real world.  The Credit Union will provide services to all students and staff.  Click here to learn more.

On December 10, Delaware's State Treasurer Velda Jones-Potter visited NHS to speak to Business students from several classes.  The students listed as the Treasurer gave a detailed presentation regarding her education and background as well as the duties of the State Treasurer.  The students quickly became engaged when the presentation included a few rounds of "Who Wants to be a Millionaire" requiring the audience to answer some intriguing financial-based questions.  Special thanks to NHS Business teacher Greg Collins for organizing this informative event.

Kudos to NHS Teacher, Susan Mitchell, who was awarded December Classroom of the Month as part of Newark's PBS (Positive Behavior Support) program.  The theme for December was perseverance.
