National Honor Society - Junior/Senior  
A national organization that recognizes 11th and 12th graders who have demonstrated special scholastic abilities and personality traits.  Admission is based on a cumulative GPA of at least 3.30, the required number of service hours and a review by the faculty.

Promotes and rewards excellence in the study of the French language and culture.

Newark Nature Society  
The group is responsible for ecology education, local cleanups, and recycling efforts.  As a group project, the Nature Society has adopted a section of the Christina River that flows through Newark and does routine cleanups and monitoring of the health of the river.

Yellowjacket Buzz   
The Yellowjacket Buzz, Newark High School's student newspaper, is published approximately six times during the school year.  Students enrolled in Journalism comprise the staff and are responsible for all aspects of the production of their paper.  Sponsor:  Mr. David P. Davis
