Promoting agriculture, learning leadership
skills, being creative, and having a good time are the goals of the Agricultural
Science Club. When they aren't tending to their thriving horticulture, A.S.C.
members compete in state and national competitions in forestry, landscaping,
dairy products, flower arranging, and small gas engines. Sponsors:

The Christiana High School Band is part of a
comprehensive instrumental music program. The program
consists of a marching band, a concert band, a jazz band
and a percussion ensemble. The marching band, concert
band and percussion ensemble rehearses during the school
day but their is some after school rehearsal time
required for the marching band. The jazz band rehearses
2 days a week after school once the marching season has

This is a student led group. In the past, we have
met once a week, right after school, on one of the days
that after school transportation is available. The
meetings usually consist of prayer, Bible Study, snacks
and biblical games. It is a non-denominational
group and all are welcome.

Family, Career and Community Leaders of America
is a national career and technical student organization for students enrolled in
Culinary Arts or any Family and Consumer Sciences courses in public and private
middle and high schools. Members are offered the opportunity to expand
their leadership potential and develop skills for life in character development,
creative and critical thinking, decision making and problem solving,
interpersonal communication, practical knowledge and vocational preparation;
skills necessary in families, communities, colleges and the workplace.

Students interested in competing with students
in other schools with the same type of club. This organization is
associated with the Delaware Scholastic Hockey Association. Christiana
High has been participating in this league since 2000 and has won the
championship twice! (2002 and 2003). The club is co-ed, and is open

The Language Clubs consist of students interested
in French, German, and/or Spanish. The French Club promotes the acceptance
of French and other cultures into our society; they watch French films,
listen to French music, and eat international foods. The Spanish Club promotes
Hispanic interests and gets involved in the community in an effort to teach
others about Spanish culture.

The National Honor Society is an organization
dedicated to serving the community. Students belonging to this club must
demonstrate excellence in academics and leadership. The National Honor
Society has volunteered for projects such as caroling at The Little Sisters
of the Poor, organizing freshman orientation, and conducting CHS's annual blood

Navy Junior Reserve
Officers Training Corps (NJROTC) |

The NJROTC Program is designed to prepare students to
become better, more well-informed citizens. CDR Bruce
Shumway, USN(Ret) and SGT Major Gary Arnold, USMC(Ret)
assist students in developing leadership skills,
promoting patriotism, and participating in community
service activities. There is no obligation to join the
military, but the NJROTC experience will certainly
prepare students whose desires include military service
or pursuing scholarship programs and acceptance to
service academies.

Science Olympiad is a team at CHS dedicated
to innovative project creation for exhibition at the annual Delaware Science
Olympiad Competition. Any student is welcomed to join Science Olympiad.

Student Government Association |

The Student Government Association has been
in existence for thirty years. The members of the S.G.A. work together
to keep the lines of communication open between the students and administration.
Meeting once a month, the S.G.A. plans events such as Spirit Week,

TSA is a organization at CHS where students
can learn to live in a technological world and to allow students to use

Christiana High has performed a number of musicals over
the past years and the tradition continues with this
year's production of ANNIE in early March 2012.
Students from all year groups are encouraged to audition
for roles or to participate in back/off stage activities

The Viking Voice, CHS's school newspaper,
is distributed to students approximately once a month. The members of the
newspaper staff write about events associated with the S.G.A., social activities,

The Christiana High School Volunteer Group was formed by
a handful of students who united around a shared
commitment to making a difference in the lives of
pre-school children, senior citizens, and survivors of
natural disasters. Operating independently and
with minimal adult supervision, they conceived and
carried out several volunteer projects. The club
meets after school twice a month and is open to all
students who are committed to giving of their time and
efforts to helping others. |
