Child Nutrition Services
Summer Meals Program
June 21-August 5
Christina School District’s Summer Lunch Crew will
be participating in the 2010 Summer Food Service
Program from June 21-August 5. The
federally-funded program provides free breakfasts
and lunches during the summer months and will be
available Monday through Thursday at the sites
listed below. The District’s popular Family
Dinner nights will be offered at Bayard Middle
School and Bancroft Elementary Schools in Wilmington
and Smith, Brader and Leasure Elementary Schools in
Newark. A Family Dinner Night schedule will
be available in the near future.
The Christina
Summer Lunch Crew meal program is unique in that the
meal sites are monitored by Child Nutrition Services
personnel during meal service.
Students are
served nutritional meals, featuring many of their
school year favorites, in a safe environment with
trained personnel.
The Summer Food
Program is a federal program of the Food and
Nutrition Services, United States Department of
Agriculture. This program provides free meals for
all children preschool to 18 years of age at no
cost to the children. There are no eligibility
requirements to participate in the Summer Meal
Program and parents do not need to sign up.
Mothers participating in WIC are also eligible to
receive meals.
