Superintendent Search timeline revised
The Christina Board of
Education has scheduled Friday, April 24 for
a site visit of the Christina School
District on behalf of candidate Freeman
Williams, and Monday, April 27 for a site
visit of the New York City Public School
system on behalf of candidate Marcia V.
Lyles.
The timeline for appointing a new
superintendent has been revised due to the
scheduling of the site visits for each
candidate. The Board now plans to appoint a
new superintendent on or before May 19. |

Christina Board of Education Announces Top
Two Finalists
for Superintendent
On Friday, April 3, 2009 the Christina
Board of Education announced the selection
of two finalists for the position of
Superintendent of Christina School District.
The two finalists are:

Marcia V.
Lyles, Ed.D.,
Deputy Chancellor for Teaching
and Learning,
New York City Department of
Education, New York
-
Freeman
Williams, Ed.D.,
Interim Superintendent,
Christina School District,
Wilmington/Newark, Delaware
The
Christina School District Board of
Education will conduct site visits
at each of the finalists' current
districts. The site visit
schedule will be announced when
meeting dates are confirmed. |

Christina
Board Names Jim Huge & Associates to Lead
Superintendent Search
At the February 10 Board of Education
meeting, the
Christina Board named Jim Huge & Associates
of San Francisco, California to provide
superintendent search services for the
District. Mr. Huge was involved in the
superintendent search in 2006 that led to
the selection of Dr. Lowery as
superintendent. He and his associates
will manage the search process, and will be
determining dates and times for input
sessions involving staff and the community. |
